We are a small, private language center. Our philosophy of teaching is based upon the way adults learn a second language. We know that sitting in a classroom and studying grammar rules is not the way to learn. Instead, we follow a natural approach where students have an opportunity to learn about and discuss topics that they want and can use. This approach is based on research in the field of Second Language Acquisition.

Our director earned a Masters Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.  She has been working in the field of language teaching for over twenty years and has made numerous presentations at international language teaching conferences.

Because our approach is so unique, our classes are not typical.  We use authentic materials much of the time (newspapers, DVDs) and sometimes even spend time outside the classroom.  Students not only learn the English language and American culture, but also gain the confidence they need to feel comfortable functioning in an English speaking environment.

We understand that learning a language - especially as an adult - is not easy and we know how to make this a positive experience.  In the process of learning a lot of English, students enjoy themselves more than they thought possible.
